For hundreds of thousands of people around the world, virtual worlds aren’t just a place to kill time—they’re also a place to make money. And while some use the virtual economy to supplement their existing income, others are finding it lucrative enough to make it their full-time job.
A recent article for the financial outlet CNBC showed just how robust the virtual economy has become. Drawing on a report from L’Atelier BNP Paribas, the article listed over a dozen jobs that offer earning potential of at least five figures (and, in some cases, much more). While some—such as vlogger or influencer—might be obvious, others are decidedly eyebrow-raising.
