However, analysis from L’Atelier BNP Paribas shows that such occupations are proving surprisingly robust. They’re just happening in digital spaces instead of physical ones. 

As detailed in the tech and business outlet Verdict, the world’s virtual economy is both lucrative—according to John Egan, CEO of  L’Atelier BNP Paribas, its value of $100 billion USD exceeds that of the global film industry—and remarkably diverse. Streaming celebrities and esports stars aren’t the only people making money in digital-only worlds: farmers, artisans, and many others are cashing in as well.
